Community Canvassing with Henrico’s Resident Outreach Initiative
Volunteers are needed to help deliver County Care Packages containing face covers and Covid-19 safety information in the county's Brookland and Tuckahoe Districts. Volunteers will be transported from the middle school to a designated neighborhood via HCPS buses. The door to door canvassing will involve walking outside, volunteers should wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. Volunteers are asked to bring a backpack for carrying care packages. If they do not have a bag, one will be provided to them. This will be a contactless process, volunteers will not be asked to knock on doors or to open doors or mailboxes. If they encounter a fence, they will leave the package on the fence and will not enter. Volunteers will be traveling in groups of 5-6 and will approach a home in pairs.
Lunch, water, snacks and PPE will be provided to all volunteers. **Please email opportunity leader any dietary restrictions in advance**
This event has two locations. Please make a note of which location you sign up for.
- Moody Middle School - 7800 Woodman Road
- Quioccasin Middle School - 9400 Quioccasin Road
