Opportunity Details

Belle Isle Invasive Species Removal and Planting

Volunteer with Richmond Tree Stewards to remove invasive non-native plants and plant native trees and shrubs in their place, and sometimes help water the new plants as needed. Work sites change so call team leader Catherine Farmer for your day's location. Parking lot at 300 Tredegar Street opens at 9 AM on weekdays. Once parked, take the suspension bridge over to Belle Isle and meet by the Bike Skills Park. Sturdy shoes, long sleeves and long pants are recomended. Bring a water bottle. Please bring work gloves and tools (clippers, e.g.) if you have them.
