Pony Pasture invasive plant removal
Nurture Healthy Habitat at the Rapids Restoration Area!
Join the JRPS invasive plant management team to remove invasive vines (wintercreeper and English ivy) near the rapids at Pony Pasture. This two acre demonstration site has been under invasive management for eight years and in November will be the site of an understory (small trees and shrubs) restoration planting. To get ready, we are intensifying removal of invasive vine groundcover in areas.
This event requires manual removal of plants. Volunteers will not use tools. JRPS provides work gloves.
VOLUNTEER INSTRUCTIONS:
- Arrive on time.
- Wear long pants and sturdy closed-toe shoes or boots.
- Do not wear leggings or any material that easily snags.
- Bring a water bottle.
If you register but then are unable to particpate, please cancel in the Hands On system.
