Juneteenth Jamboree & 5K

Brief Organizational Description:
VOWS Foundation is dedicated to inspiring black and brown communities to: live a life of power through trauma release methods, gain awareness through emotional education exercises and learn empathy through community outreach and volunteerism.
Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
Our Juneteenth Jamboree & 5K is located at 3501 W Cary St., the purpose is to provide the community with a free healthy activity on our special day. A volunteers purpose is to simply keep a bright attitude, keep the space clean, organized and make others feel welcomed. We want to provide an environment where the the community knows to work hard first and play hard after.
Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:
Juneteenth Jamboree volunteers will be assigned to set up the festival, hand out race numbers are the sign in table, get vendors in their correct spots, pass out water stations, help with games and jump houses, and breaking the festival down and clean up.
Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
No qualifications or skills needed, just a smile and a desire to help.
Time Commitment:
The 5K is being help from 10a-12
The Jamboree is from, 12-6p
Other Information (if applicable):
When you arrive find the VOWS table and a member form our board will help you get to your station!
As a new volunteer with VOWS you will go through a brief virtual training of who we are and what we expect. Once registered to volunteer check your email for the link.
No special attire recommended, remember its pretty warm this summer, come appropriate to be around children, ready to tidy up.
We are a 501c3 non profit organization and are able provide proof of volunteer hours if needed.
