Plant/Tree Debris Removal - From Public Spaces to Parks Project

Southside ReLeaf invites you to join us as we clean up a beautiful natural space by removing fallen tree debris!

Brief Organizational Description: 
Our mission is to improve health outcomes and the quality of life for Southside Richmond by building green spaces and advocating for people-centered policy. 

Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:

This phase of the project involves cutting, loading and removing tree debris to increase accessibility.  As a volunteer, you will assist us by loading and transporting tree debris.

Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:

Volunteers will be loading fallen tree debris into wheelbarrows and transporting the debris to a removal receptacle.  Removal will include bending and kneeling.  

Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
No special skills are required to be successful in this project.  Please be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

Time Commitment:

Thursday August 22, 2024 9:00a - 11:00a (2 hours)

Other Information (if applicable):

  • Volunteers will be marked in the CFEngage system.  If you need a signature to document attendance, please bring your form with you.
  • Please wear long pants and closed toe shoes.  The temperature under the canopy is significantly lower.  Feel free to bring a long sleeve shirt if you like, but it is not required. 
  • Parking will be in a residential neighborhood oan the street.  The address you may look up to get you there is 4701 Ernest Rd.  Parking anywhere nearby is sufficient.  Please do not block driveways or mailboxes.
  • Please bring a refillable water bottle.  You are welcome to bring your own gloves.  Gloves will be provided. 
  • All tools will be provided.
