Blackwell Elementary tree planting and maintenance during Richmond Tree Week
Southside ReLeaf invites you to join us as we plant trees at Blackwell Elementary School.
Brief Organizational Description:
Our mission is to improve health outcomes and the quality of life for Southside Richmond by building green spaces and advocating for people-centered policy.
Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
Volunteers will be assisting with planting trees at Blackwell Elementary. As trees mature, they will provide ornamental beauty, much needed shade, and homes for wildlife.
Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:
Volunteers will be moving soil with shovels, and may use wheelbarrows Planting and maintenance of trees may involve bending, kneeling and include lifting of up to 20 pounds.
Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
No special skills are required to be successful in this project.
Time Commitment:
Saturday, October 12, 2024 10a - 1p (3 hours)
Other Information (if applicable):
- Volunteers will be marked in the CFEngage system. If you need a signature to document attendance, please bring your form with you.
- Please wear long pants and closed toe shoes.
- Please bring a refillable water bottle. You are welcome to bring your own gloves. Gloves will be provided.
Age Minimum (with Adult): 1+, Minimum Age:18+, Court Ordered Volunteer - Allowed
