Maymont, located in the heart of Richmond, Virginia, is a well-preserved 100 acres where all are welcome to connect with history, nature, wildlife and each other. Built as a Gilded Age estate overlooking the James River, Maymont opened to the public in 1926 and today offers free admission to explore its miles of walking paths through rolling hills, beautiful landscaped gardens, a petting farm and the Virginia Wildlife Trail with habitats for rescued native animals. Since 1975, the nonprofit Maymont Foundation has been entrusted to care for this unique place, galvanizing community support around its mission to delight, educate and inspire all who visit. |
Discover the unexpected at Maymont during Garden Glow presented by Kroger, October 16 – November 10. New light sculptures will sprout up along the expanded Kinsale Glow Path and the Japanese Garden presented by Colesville Nursery will be transformed by color and lighting effects into a mesmerizing experience for 22 nights this fall. More nights means more evenings with discounted admission, and Maymont members enjoy free admission on three evenings. Delight in the wonder of Maymont’s most popular annual event, a chance to revel in the great outdoors with friends and family.
Volunteers support activities like checkin, registration, bar tending, and entertainment.
Shifts range from 4p-8p, 5:30p-9p, and 8p-11:00p depending on the evening. Please check the specific date you are interested in volunteering for exact in and out time.
Please park and enter through the Hampton St. Gate - 1700 Hampton St. Volunteer Check-In will be inside the gate.
