Richmond Tree Week 2024 - Tree Giveaway Stations
Richmond Tree Week (RTW 2024) is an annual autumn event series that celebrates Richmond's urban forests, showcases the incredible urban greening efforts happening across our city, and reaffirms our commitment to expanding tree canopy and cooling down communities. This year, from October 11th to 20th, more than 20 organizations host 40 tree events across the city of Richmond. Activities include free tree giveaways, volunteer tree plantings, workshops and presentations - all free to the public. Learn more on the website:

Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:
Help reforest Richmond by giving away FREE trees! We are looking for volunteers to help us give away tree seedlings to community members, as well as share information about RTW events happening all week long. This will include helping to setup and take down the tree giveaway station, and helping to load vehicles with materials.
Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
No special skills required, just a comfort level interacting with the public and some moderate phyiscal activities - bending, stooping, standing, reaching, and some lifting (max. 30lbs). Tree knowledge a bonus but not required!
Other Information:
- Sign-ups close 24hrs before the opportunity! This allows for proper planning and communication.
- Upon signup, you will recieve TWO emails; a confirmation from CFEngage, and an email from the Opportunity Coordinator at "Qui.Nguyen@rva.gov". Specific details and instructions will be sent in the SECOND email - be sure to check your SPAM folder if you have not recived it. All volunteers MUST REPLY to that email to confirm participation.
- Most volunteer shifts are for 1-hour long, however check the specific Occurance details for exact timing and duration.
- Locations will vary! Please check the specific Occurance details for exact Volunteer Location before signing up. The second follow up email will reiterate the location.
