Opportunity Details

Church Hill Street Tree Planting

Join the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay and the Church Hill Association in bringing new street trees to the historic Church Hill neighborhood of Richmond.

Volunteers will plant trees in tree wells along residential blocks of Church Hill. Healthy trees are powerful stormwater tools that filter runoff, provide shade and beautify our neighborhoods!

Volunteers are encouraged to wear clothing appropriate for outside work - long sleeves, long pants, and close-toed shoes are recommended. Bring a water bottle. Activities will include preparing trees and tree wells for planting, amending soil, planting trees and mulching and watering around planting sites. If you have never planted a tree before, do not worry. We will provide instruction. All necessary tools will be provided.

Street parking is available on Marshall and adjacent side streets.
