DIY Cold Weather Care Kits for People Experiencing Homelessness This Winter
Brief Organizational Description:
Homeward's mission is to prevent, reduce, and end homelessness through the coordination of regional resources and services.
Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
DIY: Assemble cold weather care kits for people experiencing homelessness this winter and drop them off at the Homeward office.
Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:
Please see this list of instructions for assembling the kits. We would like each volunteer to make about 5 kits.
Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
Just the ability to buy and assemble the kits, and drop them off at the Homeward office at the designated times.
Time Commitment:
We can give you credit for up to 3 hours of volunteer time, depending on how many kits you make.
Drop Off Instructions:
- Drop-off is contactless in the lobby of Stony Point 1, 9211 Forest Hill Ave, Suite 110 Richmond VA 23235. You will see signs and a drop off cart.
- If you need a volunteer hours form to be signed by Homeward staff, please email ehandewerk@homewardva.org in advance of when you plan to drop the kits off so we can be sure someone is available to sign for you.
- Drop off times are:
- Designated Tuesdays between 10am and 3pm
- Designated Wednesdays between 10am and 3pm
- If you can't make those hours email ehandwerk@homewardva.org and we can work with you on arranging a different time for drop off.
