Our mission is to work together to build healthy communities by growing and sharing healthy food. Thousands in Richmond lack access to healthy food. Many people also lack the tools and resources to cook it, eat it, and share it. Through sustainable agriculture and hands-on experiences, we seek to collaboratively transform the Richmond food system so that all people have access to good food - food that is good for our bodies, good for the environment, and good for our communities. For years, Shalom Farms has managed distinctive and innovative programs including our Prescription Produce Plan, our Grown to Go Mobile Market, and the Richmond Healthy Corner Store Initiative. We grow about 200,000 pounds a year, and engage more than 7,000 volunteers and visitors annually.
