Davee Gardens tree maintenance with Southside ReLeaf
Brief Organizational Description:
Our goal is to improve the life expectancy and quality of life for Southside residents by increasing green spaces, reducing pollution and improving infrastructure.
Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
Volunteers will be assisting with raking, weeding and remulching trees.
Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:
Work will involve standing to rake, bending to remove weeds and moving loads of mulch via wheelbarrow and/or shovel.
Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
No special qualifications, skills or requirements are necessary other than a willingness to get a little dirty, sweaty and a love of completing a beautification project.
Time Commitment:
1:30p - 4:00p
Our project may not take the full time. Late arrivals and early departures are allowed but please commit to a minimum of 90 min. onsite.
Other Information (if applicable):
- Please bring any volunteer documents you need signed to verify hours.
- Wear closed toe shoes and clothing with which you have no issue getting dirty.
- Park near TB Smith Community Center where we will be meeting or on Reyburn Rd. where work will take place.
- Please bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Water and snacks will also be provided.
- Gloves and tools will be provided.
- Rain date - Wednesday, September 20, 2023 1:30p-4:00p at TB Smith Community Center
