Unique Corporate Team Building Opportunities!
Brief Organizational Description: Tired of hosting pizza parties and ropes courses as your 'team building' event? Work with your colleagues in a completely new way by building furniture for the communities you live and work in. Building Change is Richmond ToolBank's one-of-a-kind community give-back experience that empowers groups of volunteers of any age, background, or affiliation to build lasting change in their community.
Description and Purpose: Community spaces are always in need of placemaking furniture, and Building Change is set up to allow for local businesses to give their volunteer time and funds in order to build and donate furniture to these groups. Recipients of donated furniture have included schools, community gardens, local farms, and Richmond City parks. Does someone in your group have a special connection to a place in need of furniture? You can absolutely donate your build to them!
We host groups of 10-100 participants in our easy-to-access, climate-controlled facility. Or, we can provide a team-building experience on-site at your location. This experience is great for corporate team building, organizational volunteer days, or incoming cohort bonding, to name a few.
Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:
No previous skills required! We will teach you everything you need to know on the day of the event. Working in groups of 2-3 we'll build some simple and sturdy furniture that has been requested from the community. The way we're able to donate it is due to the generosity of the company sponsoring the build.
Time Commitment:
We typically schedule in 3 hour time blocks, M-F
