Day of Service & Celebration: Invasive Removal at Bandy Field Nature Park
Volunteer at Bandy Field Nature Park for the April 26 Mayor Avula Inaugural Day of Service
Friends of Bandy Field Nature Park is honored to be one of the organizations across the city asked to be a part of Mayor Danny Avula’s Inaugural Day of Service, organized by Dr. Avula’s Inaugural Committee and the City of Richmond.
The event is from Noon - 3 PM on Saturday, April 26, 2025 ; feel free to come help for any portion of that time period.
Meet at Bandy Field Nature Park main entrance located at the intersection of Three Chopt Rd. & Hanover Ave. Ample parking is available on Hanover & Ripley Ave. across Three Chopt from the park. Please wear clothing that covers your arms and legs, a hat, and closed toe shoes. Bring a water bottle (we will have refills available). We will also have snacks. All tools will be provided on site but we do ask that you bring your own work gloves.
We are making great strides in our habitat restoration by removing aggressive, non-native species. On this day of service, several projects will be underway and we can use all skill/ ability levels. Our focus will be removal of invasive plants in Bandy Field Nature Park. We need your help so that native plants, pollinators, and birds can thrive.
