Brief Organizational Description:
Southside ReLeaf is a community-based organization committed to environmental justice in South Richmond. Our goal is to improve the life expectancy and quality of life for Southside residents by increasincpaces, reducing pollution and improving infrastructure. We believe in uplifting voices that are often unheard and people-powered advocacy to build climate resilient neighborhoods.
Volunteer Position Description and Purpose
Come visit a Southside wetland space for a walk with Virginia Master Naturalist Riverine Chapter President, Brian McGurk. Richmond will be participating in the City Nature Challenge by sharing via the iNaturalist app all of the biodiversity we find.
Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:
Walk, and enjoy the space.
Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
No training or skills necessary.
Time Commitment:
Thursday, April 24, 9:00a-9:45a (45 minutes)
Other Information (if applicable):
- Volunteer hours will be marked in the CFEngage system. Please bring any paperwork if you would like it signed.
- CityNatureChallenge.org
- Please wear shoes that will support you well if we encounter any muddy areas.
- Street parking available - Ideally, park by the median of the Beaufont Court loop or along Lamar Dr. and walk over.
- Bring a reusable water bottle
